Applications of Bluestone Sills

Although the applications may seem obvious, we’ve seen these stone products used in a variety of manors. Most often they use the select blue stone with a thermal finish due to its consistent color and clean edges, and used to create a stunning finishing touch on what may otherwise be a more rustic stone veneer.

These products provide more than aesthetic appeal though. Being a solid piece of stone, they are meant to shed water away from the lower stone section of a wall when used as a water table sill, or away from the window when used as a window sill, which is why the smooth thermal finish is not just a pleasing choice to the eye, but a practical one due to the resulting functionality of a smoother finish.

Bluestone Sill Colors

Although these products can be provided in full range, they are typically used as to give clean lines and a more polished finish so select blue is the most common and desirable color used.

Finishes for Bluestone Sill

Again, being a stone to give a finishing touch, sills are most often thermal, honed, or sand blast finished. The difference is really in just how smooth and clean you want the stone to look.

In addition to the just the texture of the stone, we can also provide an eased top to aid in the run off of water. There is also options for the facing, which can have all the finishes above, or alternatively a rock faced edge which gives more natural looking character.

Sizing for Bluestone Sills

Although the following standard sizes are available, please keep in mind that we provide specialty stone, which simply means that by being the quarry owners, stone fabricators, and also the suppliers we are not bound by the same constraints of other stone suppliers. We will cut the stone to the specifications of your architect or contractor.
